Welcome to Antrim School of Music CIC!
We're so glad you're here! Here's a little bit about us...
Antrim School of Music CIC was founded by Vicki Kyles in 2019, evolving from her well-established teaching practice, “VK Music.” Vicki, a passionate and qualified piano and singing teacher, has been teaching for over 15 years. With diplomas in Music Teaching and Early Childhood Music Teaching from the London College of Music and a recent Master’s degree in Creative Musicianship from the University of Ulster, Vicki brings a wealth of experience to the table. She’s also the founder of Antrim Kids Choir, serving as Musical Director until 2022, and has led several other musical groups and organisations over the years.
Plans were in place to fully launch the school shortly after but in 2020, the world faced the COVID-19 pandemic, and plans were on hold. Then in 2021, Vicki was joined by Rebecca McPolin-Clulow, Director of ASM, to expand the school services provision.
In 2021, Rebecca McPolin-Clulow joined Vicki as Co-Director of ASM, helping expand our offerings. Rebecca has over 15 years of experience in performance, music technology, and leading workshops for councils, schools, and education boards. With Grade 8 qualifications in electric and bass guitar, Rebecca has brought a whole new dynamic to the school, adding rock and electronic music to our offerings. She’s also a professional sustainability consultant, currently completing her Master’s in Leadership for Sustainable Development and is committed to ensuring ASM incorporates eco-friendly practices.
Though our official launch was delayed by the pandemic, we were thrilled to become a Community Interest Company in November 2021, making us a not-for-profit organisation. This allows us to focus even more on offering affordable and accessible music education to the Antrim community.
